Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area is located in Xiaojin County, northwest part of Sichuan province. It is at the east edge of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, belongs to Midwest section of Qionglai Mountain. Sichuan province in China has been full of amazing treks and Mt.Siguniang is one of them. There are three valleys along the mountain, two of which give the hiker a great view of the peaks of the Four Sisters Mountain. The nearest airport and train station are located in Chengdu, you can take flight or train to Chengdu first, then take long distance bus from Chengdu Chaidianzi bus station to xiaojin county and get off at Rilong town, then reach the Mt.Siguniang from there; Or you can book a car rental service with a local tour company, car rental company to get to Mt.Siguniang from Chengdu. It takes around 5 hours from Chengdu downtown.

When to Go
For most of the natural scenery in Sichuan, the summer and autumn are the most beautiful season. The best time to visit Mt.Siguniang is July & August, you can enjoy the sea of flower at the Mt.Siguniang, such as brocade. Summer time is a ideal time to feel the cool temperature, you can spend your leisure time along the valleys. Autum is also a good time to visit Mt.Siguniang, you can enjoy the colorful mountain scenery. Bring warm clothes with you because weather in the mountains are changeable; Wearing sunglasses so as to protect yourself from the strong light reflected from the ice and snow.

Accommodation
Please note that there is no hotel inside the Mt.Siguniang National Park. Most travelers choose to stay overnight at Siguniangshan Town or Changping Village, there are lots of guesthouse there, the price from RMB 60 per bed per night to hundreds of RMB for one night. The price will be much higher if you travel to there during the high season. Shanji Time Spring Guest House, Yunxigu Inn, Siguniangshan Tea & Panda Hotel are recommended. As for the trekking tour, you can also experience the camping at Mt. Siguniang National Park.

Trekking Tips for Mt.Siguniang
Siguniang Mountain is one of the top ten mountaineering sites in China. It is suitable for mountaineering, hiking and other special tourism. Please kindly noted that all the mountaineers must hold mountaineering permits before participating in mountaineering activities. If you want to do a Mt. Siguniang trekking tour, 3 days is highly recommended to explore the full of this area. The best trekking route as below:

1) Trekking Route
Day 1 Rilong Town – Shuangqiao valley – Nianyuba – Dagou goukou – Primate forest – alpine meadow – luanshi po – Dagougou wei (10km, 5hours)
Day 2 Dagougou wei – Dagouweizi – Shanyakou – the end of Changping Valley (25km)
Day 3 the end of Changping Valley – Yangmantai – Shuidaba -Mu luozi – Lianghekou – Shangxia haizi – Lama si (22km)

2) Camping Tips
You can experience the camping when you explore the Mt.Siguniang, it has a total of three valleys, Changping valley, Haizi valley and Shuangqiao valley. Both Changping valley and Haizi valley can camp. Changping valley is the most beautiful, it not only has a beautiful virgin forest, there are more than 30 magnificent snow-capped mountains. The Muluozi, Kazigoukou, large platform and Kazigouwei of Changping valley, Haizigou’s Dahaizi and Huahaizi are suitable for camping.

3)How to Avoid Mountain Sickness
Mt. Siguniangshan is in plateau area and some of the peaks are more than 5000 meters above the sea level. Some visitors to the plateau may have altitude sickness, remember to drink plenty of water, try to eat light food, eat more fruits and vegetables, and avoid heavy exercise. If you are good in health, no need worry about it.

Language
Almost nobody can speak English there, such as Rilong town’s residents are mainly Qiang and Tibetan people. They speak Chinese and Tibetan there, you'd better ask for a local English speaking guide to take you around or download a translation app before you arrive. The best way to visit Mt.Siguniang is work with a local Sichuan tour company since there are lots of restrictions for western travelers.
