Today, after enjoying breakfast at your hotel, your Chengdu driver will meet you and escort you to Shuangliu International Airport for your flight to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport, a journey of approximately one hour. Upon arrival, our attentive Lhasa tour guide and driver will be waiting at the exit with a distinctive “Your Way Holiday” welcome sign, offering a warm greeting and assisting with your luggage. From there, you will be escorted directly to Huanglong National Park, where your exploration of its stunning landscapes and unique natural features will begin. The guide will provide engaging commentary along the way, offering insights into the park’s geological wonders, ecological diversity, and cultural significance. After check-in at the park, the remainder of the day will be yours to wander at your own pace and immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery.
In the morning, your local guide will meet you at the hotel before leading you to explore the breathtaking Huanglong National Park, renowned for its extraordinary calcified landscapes. Nestled on the gentle slopes of Xuebao Peak (Xuebao Snow Mountain), the park stretches approximately 7.5 kilometers in length and 1.5 kilometers in width, offering a vast, serene valley to wander through. The area is celebrated for its striking yellow travertine formations, which wind through the valley in patterns that resemble a majestic yellow dragon—an image that inspired the park’s evocative name, Huanglong, or “Yellow Dragon.” As you walk along the scenic trails, you will encounter a spectacular array of mineral-rich pools, cascading waterfalls, and vividly colored ponds, each reflecting the surrounding mountains in shimmering hues. Stretching across a valley approximately 3.6 kilometers long, the area presents a spectacular panorama of mineral terraces and natural pools. At the summit, 3,990 meters above sea level, you will find the park’s most celebrated feature—the Five-Color Ponds. This stunning collection of 693 ponds varies in size, shape, and hue, their vibrant colors sparkling in shades of turquoise, emerald, and jade, creating a scene of almost otherworldly beauty. After approximately four hours of exploring the stunning landscapes of Huanglong National Park, you will embark on a scenic two-hour drive to Jiuzhaigou, where you will check into your hotel and spend the night, allowing yourself to rest and recover from the day’s adventures. Given that Huanglong National Park sits at elevations exceeding 3,000 meters above sea level, it is important to take precautions against high-altitude effects. Travelers are advised to maintain good health prior to the tour, rest adequately—especially on the first night of arrival—and pace themselves while walking through the valley.
