Upon arrival, you’ll begin your incredible Giant Panda Volunteering Experience, where you'll have the unique opportunity to interact closely with these beloved creatures. Your day will be filled with rewarding activities, such as preparing panda meals, cleaning their enclosures, and learning about panda conservation efforts from expert staff. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the base, you’ll gain firsthand insight into the lives of these gentle giants, all while contributing to their well-being. Enjoy a full day of adventure and education, culminating in the afternoon as you help protect one of China’s most iconic symbols.

At Dujiangyan Panda Base, home to over 40 giant pandas and 5 red pandas, you'll immerse yourself in a one-day panda volunteer program that provides a unique opportunity to experience the lives of these incredible animals. As an honorary keeper, you’ll engage in essential tasks such as cleaning bamboo, picking up droppings, and washing enclosures while observing the pandas’ living conditions. This hands-on experience allows you to understand the status and needs of these beloved creatures better. After a day of dedicated service, you'll receive an official certificate from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP), along with souvenirs like a panda badge, T-shirt, or club magazine.

Your day at Dujiangyan Panda Base will be filled with engaging activities that deepen your connection with these incredible animals. You'll start by preparing their food and making fun “Panda Cakes” to deliver personally, gaining insights into their feeding habits. You’ll also watch a captivating documentary on panda conservation, learning how humans can protect these animals and coexist harmoniously with them. Additionally, you’ll participate in meaningful tasks like planting bamboo and trees while setting up name tags, all contributing to the pandas’ habitat. Children over 12 can partake in the volunteer work, while younger kids will enjoy special interactive activities with the pandas. For those wishing for an extraordinary experience, an option to hug a panda is available for an additional donation. 

Please note that the Dujiangyan Panda Base welcomes children over 12 years old to participate in the Panda Volunteer Program. For younger children under 12, special activities will be arranged to ensure they can still interact with the pandas. The base can accommodate up to 20 volunteers per day, so it's essential to apply at least a week in advance by submitting your Application Form and Health Examination Form, which includes a valid medical certificate and signature. If any family member desires an exceptional experience to hug a panda, an additional donation fee of 1,800 Yuan is required to support the conservation efforts for these endangered animals.
