Overview
Three-Su Ancestral Hall (Sansu Ci) is located in the downtown area of Meishan city, 80 kilometers away from Chengdu and Leshan. It is the former residence of Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe, a classical garden covering an area of 104 mu. The courtyard of Three-Su Ancestral Hall has always been a place for scholars and people to worship sages.
Background
In the Ming Dynasty, Three-Su Ancestral Hall was transformed into an ancestral hall from an ordinary residence to offer sacrifices to the three great writers. By the end of Qing Dynasty, it was destroyed by war. It was not until the Qing Dynasty (1665 A.D.) that it was restored and rebuilt on the original site. There are more than 10 statues of Su Shi, Su Xun, Su Zhe, their wives and family members. There are a large number of authentic works, poems, calligraphy and paintings of them.
What to see
The whole ancestral hall is not large, but precious cultural relics, calligraphy and painting spread all over every corner, including the plaque on the lintel, calligraphy and painting on the corridor. The rockery, flowers, and ancient trees in the yard are worth watching.
