Overview
The Chinese Lantern Museum is located at No. 6, Gongyuan Road, Zigong City, Sichuan Province. It was established with the approval of the National Cultural Heritage Administration Cultural Relics Bozi No. 793 as a special institution for the “collection, protection, research and display” of Chinese lanterns. It belongs to the national county level. The public institution is the only professional museum on lantern culture in China and even the world. It is also the core of the construction of the "Southern Lantern City" in Zigong City and an important symbol of the image of the "Southern Lantern City".
History
Since its opening in 1994, the China Lantern Museum has received more than 3 million visitors from home and abroad, and has been invited to more than 60 places in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Harbin, Urumqi, Hohhot, Guangzhou, Nanning, Guiyang, Kunming, Xi’an, Zhengzhou, etc. Several large and medium-sized cities and countries and regions including Canada, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have successfully held hundreds of collections of boutique exhibitions and large-scale lantern festivals, especially three consecutive years from 2006 to 2008.
The "Chinese Lantern Festival" held at the Ontario Amusement Park in Canada in the year attracted 440,000 visitors from North America and the Caribbean to watch the lights. It made a sensation in North America and achieved huge social and economic benefits. It became the fruit of General Secretary Hu Jintao’s visit to Canada. It has become the largest, longest lasting, most influential, and most successful event for China to promote Chinese culture and cultural exchanges in North America. It has become a model of Sino-Canadian cultural exchanges and a benchmark for Chinese lanterns overseas. For more than ten years, the Chinese Lantern Museum has always put social benefits in the first place, and achieved better economic benefits through the realization of social benefits. It has successfully held the "Kong Fansen Deeds Exhibition", "China Aerospace Exhibition", and "Weifang Kite".
Temporary exhibitions such as "Exhibition" and "" have won widespread social praise.
