I am also an energetic male tour guide who can take you go for the hiking or trekking in the western region of Sichua province. Hobby
Many people think that cooking is what girls or ladies do, but it is the hobby for me. I always cooking for my family and like to explore the lots of new dishes. I felt so happy when my family member said the food are delicious. As for the cooking hobby, it will give you a chance to reconnect, it is fun and personalized activity, when you’re making a meal from scratch, you get to discover and experiment with different ingredients, seasonings, and cuisines. Cooking at home gives you the opportunity to eat the foods you love exactly how you enjoy eating them.


My Story
My majored is Tourism Mangement, after my graduation from university, i worked in the city tourism department for one year, because at that time, as a graduate, i thought i needed to know more about the world and people, so i quit my job and then became an English tour guide, which gives me a way to widen my horizen about the world and during my work, i have guided people from over 35 areas and countries, and I worked as the interpreter for many meetings, international conference, such as helped the Indonesia Baseball team in 2012 during the Teenagers Asian baseball Championship, and interpreter for the guests for the 2012 HP International Forum and interpreter for the VIP team of WCEC.

During my guiding experience, I have been to ancient cities like Beijing and Xian to feel Chinese long history and splendid culture; I have also seen incredible natural beauty in Zhangjiajie, Yunnan as well as Tibet. I have travelled a lot and experienced a lot. Now as a full time tour guide in Chengdu Private Tour Company, I have took over lots of foreign travelers in and around Chengdu city. It always made me so proud of this job when my guests told me they have thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and will definitely recommend our company and my service to their families and friends.
I am also specialized in designing theme tours for guests. For example, I helped a family who travel with a kids to be a Chengdu Panda Volunteer, they helped to  prepare the bamboo, clean the enclosure, collect the panda pupu, feed panda face to face, and make your own style of panda cake.


My Impression of Chengdu
I have been live in Chengdu over 30 years, I got a deeper impression of Chengdu after i work in the tourism industry. I was  impressive tall buildings, but also the pleasant and well-kept parks where people enjoyed their afternoon drinking tee, playing mahjong and watching their children play. What made me feel very comfortable was that I never was molested or stared at as a foreigner, and some people tried to start a friendly conversation as much as our common language level allowed.

An old Chengdu saying goes, “Sunny days are rare, but teahouses are abundant”. Teahouses have played diverse social roles in the history of Chengdu. Locals are passionate about going to tea houses — not only for tea, snacks, and entertainment, but also for social gatherings and business meetings.

Chinese tea culture is perhaps best exemplified by the bamboo chairs and wooden tables found in the hundreds of teahouses throughout Chengdu, with jasmine tea being served as the local staple. As early as the Western Han period (206BC - 9AD), both tea trade and tea culture were very prosperous in Sichuan with Chengdu as the starting point of the Southern Silk Road.

Mahjong has been an essential part of most local people’s life. Almost every household in Chengdu has at least one mahjong set. People play mahjong at home or in tea houses, where friends and families chat over mahjong tables, making mahjong an important social vehicle.

Chengdu people's friendship and warmth is Gerd's strongest and deepest impression of Chengdu which will be kept in his heart forever.
