4 Days Dali Highlight Tour with Cangshan Mountain Hiking

Day 1 Dali Arrival

Pick up service can be arranged at Dali train station or Dali airport once you arrive, our guide will meet you at the exit of the train station/airport with a welcome sign, transfer to your hotel in Dali. The rest day is free on your own to explore the city or take rest in your hotel.

Day 2 Dali

After breakfast, you’ll first take a visit to visit the symbol of Dali - Three Pagodas. Built in 10th century in Nanzhao Kingdom, Three Pagodas is made of one big pagoda and two small pagodas forming a symmetric triangle. If you look at it from a distance, the pagodas are like three giant ballpoint pens breaking up the landscape of the never-ending mountains. 

Then, drive to visit Erhai Lake, you will take a leisure cruise on Erhai Lake, and you can visit temples and small islands in the lake. In the simple ceremony, three different kinds of Bai tea are served. Islands in the lake include Guanyin Ge (Guanyin Pavilion), Jinsuo Island, NanzhaoFengqing Island and Xiao Putuo Island. Then wander in the Ancient City of Dali to enjoy a nice evening.

Your lunch will be arranged at the local restaurant popular with the local people to stay away from the tourists' meals. (At your own expense or ask your guide to recommend some other restaurants if you have special dietary needs.)

In the afternoon, be followed a trip to explore Dali Old Town. Dali Old Town is a historic town with rich culture located between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake with profound Bai culture. Wander in the old town to have leisure exploration about city gates, old towers, old streets, temples, churches, museums, shops and bars... if you like have a cup of coffee when visiting the famous Foreigner Street, visit the bustling shops selling Yunnan specialties, get on the city wall or gate tower for a bird’s eye view of the large old town area. You will feel like going back to old times.

Drive you back to your hotel.

Day 3 Dali

After breakfast, you’ll first take a visit to Cangshan Mountain, the national geological park in China with 48 km from north to south and 18 km from west to east, just like a painted screen hanging magnificently around the elegant Erhai Lake. 

You’ll take a cable car to get to trail. Then experience this 15km-long paved walking trail which passes some temples, waterfalls, caves and shrines. In good weather, views off the mountain take in the whole Erhai Lake, with plenty of birdlife, the odd squirrel and colorful flowers alongside the path.

After walking through the trail, you can take cable car drop down and back to the your hotel in Dali downtown.

Day 4 Dali Depature

Today, the tour starts from Xizhou Old Town which is located about 18 kilometers north of Dali. Xizhou Village is one of the Bai ethnic minority villages around the Erhai Lake and has historic prominence with a cluster of over 100 protected buildings. 

Your tour guides will lead you walk into the “the Museum of Bai Architecture” and appreciate the exquisite residential complexes decorated fabulous sculptures, paintings, pointed eaves and wall screens. Taste Bai’s Three-Course Tea and experience the tea ceremony.

After the tour, transfer to Dali train station or Dali airport for your next destination.
