4 Days Lijiang Essence Tour with Lugu Lake

Day 1 Lijiang Arrival

Pick up service can be arranged at Lijiang train station or Lijiang airport, our Lijiang local guide will meet you at the exit with a welcome sign "Lijiang Private Tour". Transfer to Lijiang city for your 4 days Lijiang essence tour.

Firstly, our guide will take you to visit Baisha Village. Baisha village was once Lijiang's political, economic and cultural center. There remains 55 Baisha murals, paintings in fine brushwork, succinct, a fusion of Tibetan Buddhist painting in smooth beautiful style. This art treasure is reflective of the deep traditions and characteristics of Naxi culture. When you in Baisha Village, you can wander around in the relaxed atmosphere. Fewer tour groups go through here. Find a nice place to sit and enjoiy your surroundings.

After that, transfer you back to Lijiang city to explore the Lijiang Ancient Town.  It is located on the outskirts of the present-day city of Lijiang, Yunnan Province. The old, original village is built around the concept of a network of canals that were intended to provide water to each and every household. The source of the water is Black Dragon Pool, a natural spring from which arises 3 small rivers, denoted simply as the East, West, and Middle rivers.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Lijiang.

Day 2 Lijiang

After breakfast, you will be taken to Yuhu Naxi minority Village that is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.  The Yuhu Naxi minority village is one of the few traditional villages at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Located 15 km away from Lijiang, this small village can reflect the culture and traditions of its people. Here the houses are built with processed stone and mud locally called monkey head. The street is bordered by house gates carved with simplicity. Everything here reveals the peaceful and original life of the Naxi people. The open-minded Naxi people will happily welcome foreigners to their village.

After that, our guide will take you to explore the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you will have chance to world’s highest passenger cable at the foot of the mountain and ascend to an elevation of 3240 meters to visit the Spruce Meadow. It is a sanctuary for rare animals and wild plants. One fourth of all plant species in China can be found here and 20 primeval forest communities shelter a big family of 400 types of trees and 30 kinds of animals which are protected by the state. 

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain now is a famous scenic spot for sightseeing, mountaineering, skiing, exploration, scientific research and taking holiday. Besides, widespread legends and myths of the Naxi ethnic minority and the unclimbed Shanzidou are all important attractive spots for those who come to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Lijiang.

Day 3 Lijiang

After breakfast, drive about 200KM from Lijiang downtown to visit the famous Lugu Lake in Yunnan Province, the journey takes around 4 hours for one way. After on your arrival, our guide will help you to check in your hotel nearby the Lugu Lake before head for sightseeing.

Lugu Lake 2690 metres above sea level located at the borders between Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces, covers an area of 50 square kilometers with the average water depth of 45 meters and the transparency 11 meters. In the lake there are five islands, three peninsulas and a sea- wall islet. Here everything looks as if it has not been disturbed by human beings at all and still remains in its primitive state. Boating in the lake, you can feel that the surface of the water is as smooth as a mirror and the water as blue as the sky. The slow canoe in the blue lake, the beautiful Mosuo girls in their ethnic clothes and the Mosuo folk songs will show you something of primitive simplicity and peace.

After that, you will enjoy some quiet time to walk along the Luguhu Lake by yourself. Enjoy the sunset wonder of Lugu Lake in Luoshui Village. Later, transfer to Lige Village embraced by water on three sides.

After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4 Lijiang Departure

If the weather permits, get up early to catch the charming sunrise scenery of Lugu Lake. It will be an once in a lifetime travel experience in Yunnan.

After breakfast, our guide will take you to visit the Zhamei Monastery, the largest extant Tibetan Buddhism temple in the Mosuo area is Zhamei Monastery in Yongning. It originally was a Gelug Sect (white sect) temple, and later was transformed into a Gelug Sect (yellow sect) temple during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Different from the lama temples reformed by the Mosuo ethnic group near the ancient city of Lijiang, this monastery is a traditional Tibetan Buddhism temple. However, it also enshrines and worships the Gemu goddess, which symbolizes features of the Mosuo people.

After the lunch, transfer to Lijiang train station or Lijiang airport for your next destination.
