In Depth Chengdu Travel: 6-Day Chengdu & Jiuzhaigou Tour

Day 1 Chengdu Arrival

Our Chengdu private tour guide and driver will meet you at the exit of Chengdu train station or airport holding with a welcome signal "Chengdu Private Tour" .

What you need to do is sitting back and relaxing in the car. Your guide will help you check in the hotel in the downtown Chengdu and provide information you need.

Day 2 Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou

After breakfast, our Chengdu private tour guide and driver will escort you to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to catch your flight to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport. Upon arrival, the local guide will meet you at Jiuhuang Airport and bring you to visit Huanglong National Park. 

Huanglong National Park is a scenic and historic interest area in the northwest part of Sichuan, this area is known for its colorful pools formed by calcite deposits, especially in Huanglonggou (Yellow Dragon Gully), as well as diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, waterfalls and hot springs. Huanglong is also home to many endangered species including the giant panda and the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey.

The travertine scenery was created by the thousands years of geological evolution, including glacial revolution, terrane movement, chemical reaction, climate changing, etc. It covers a total length of 3.6 kilometers. At the top(3990m) of the valley lies the best highlight - Five-Color Ponds consisting of 693 ponds of different sizes, shapes, colors, just looking like beautiful emeralds.

To save your energy and time, you will take a quick and convenient cable car directly to the top, and then walk down the valley to enjoy the scenery. 

After about 4-hour sightseeing in Huanglong National Park, you will drive about two hours to Jiuzhaigou. Stay overnight in Jiuzhaigou.

Day 3 Jiuzhaigou Valley

Today you will have a full day sightseeing to Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic, Jiuzhaigou is a nature reserve and national park located in the north of Sichuan Province in the southwestern region of China. A long valley running north to south, Jiuzhaigou was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997. The Jiuzhaigou valley is part of the Min Mountains on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau and stretches over 72,000 hectares (180,000 acres). It is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 metres (6,600 to 14,800 ft).

The famous attractions you will encounter are the Multi-colored Lake, the Nuorilong Fall, the Long Lake and the Pearl Beach. The Multi-colored Lake is the smallest but most colorful lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley, and is famous for a profusion of colors and limpidity. You will see the colors of azure, light green and orange in the same pond. The Nuorilang Fall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the valley. In Tibetan language, Nuorilang means majestic and grand waterfall. The surging currents rush passionately and dash down in a series of cascades. 

Stay overnight in Jiuzhaigou.

Day 4 Jiuzhaigou-Chengdu

After breakfast, our Jiuzhaigou private tour guide and driver will escort you to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong International Airport to catch your flight to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Upon arrival, the local guide will meet you at Chengdu Airport and bring you to your hotel in Chengdu downtown.

In the afternoon, visit Wuhou Temple. Also known as Memorial Temple of Marquis Wu, is dedicated to Zhuge Liang, the Marquis Wu (Wuhou) of Kingdom of Shu in the Three Kingdoms Period (220 - 280). Every year, Wuhou Temple attracts millions of tourists from home and abroad to explore the fabulous Three Kingdom history here.

Keep going to visit the Jinli street, Chengdu is a city brimming with a strong leisurely ambience with Jinli Street as the typical representative. The street is located to the east of the Wuhou Temple of Chengdu (the most famous Three Kingdoms period (220 - 280) relic museum in China).

Strolling down the narrow street, you will find yourself surrounded by old-world stores selling Shu Embroidery, lacquer products, folk handicrafts, curios, or calligraphies and paintings of celebrities. All of these stores have their unique style but also have one thing in common: no matter how busy the place is, the stores are peaceful and relaxing.

Before back to your hotel. Our tour guide will lead to the locals Hot-Pot restaurant. The hot pot is one of Sichuan's oldest methods of cooking and is still a popular choice for a night out in Chengdu. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. Vegetables, fish, and meat should be fresh. The hot pot in Chengdu can be very spicy because almost everyone lives here loves spicy. But there is also a choice of non-spicy hot pot.

Day 5 Chengdu

In the early morning, drive you to visit the Wangjianglou Park, Wangjiang Lou (Wangjiang Pavilion or the Pavilion to Watch the River translated into Chinese), together with the Wuhou Memorial Temple (Wuhou Ci), and Dufu's Thatched Cottage are the top three attractions in Chengdu city.  

The Wangjiang Pavilion in the park is one of the featured historical buildings; it was built to memorize the great poetess - Xue tao (??). The main attractions in the park includes the Well of Xue tao, Zhuojin Pavilion (???), Pavilion for reciting poems (???) , Pavilion for washing bamboo slips and Pavilion of the five immortals in the sky (???), etc. The Wangjiang Pavilion is of a height of 39 meters and is also called Chongli Pavilion.

Then, move on to the Wenshu Temple. The large Buddhist Wen Shu Monastery in the north of town has become a major tourist attraction in Chengdu and the surrounding neighborhood has undergone extensive renovations. The temple itself is clean and relatively quiet. There are small ponds and underused buildings in corners of the complex where you can sit and relax. Every now and then a preoccupied monk scurries past, but the grounds are mostly filled with strolling visitors.

Your lunch will be arrange at a Vegetarian Restaurant in Wenshu Temple. All the food made by vegetable.

After a short break, move on to visit the Renmin Park to experience the most authentic view into Chengdu local life. Have a cup of tea in a traditional tea house, watch the local older couples dancing, and enjoy the typical leisure lifestyle of Chengdu.

There are many famous scenic spots in the People's Park, including the Gold Water Stream, the Goldfish Island and the Potted Landscape Garden. Besides appreciating the charming landscape, tourists can sail on the artificial lake, drink tea in the teahouse by the lake and watch all kinds of exhibitions and performances on the Rockery Square. The chrysanthemum show and the Singing Crane Teahouse are time-honored and known far and wide. People will get relaxed and delighted here.

At last, drive you back hotel.

Day 6 Chengdu Departure

Check out the hotel before 12:00a.m., and transfer to Chengdu train station or airport. Our service end.
