Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa

Pick up service can be arranged at Lhasa train station or Lhasa airport, our guide will meet you at the exit with a welcome sign "Lhasa Private Tour". Transfer to your hotel in Lhasa, the rest day is free on your own to adapt to the local altitude.

Day 2 Lhasa

After breafast, the guide will lead you to hike to the Chakpori Hill, a holy mountain facing the Potala Palce, This is the best starting point for your Lhasa trip. It can give you the greatest visual impact and have a panoramic view of the whole central Lhasa city and Potala Palace.

After having lunch, you’ll continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. There are a large number of cultural relics in sera monestery, such as Buddha statues, Thangka, scriptures, magic tools, and offering utensils, which are extremely precious.

The last stop is Drepung Monastery. Drepung Monastery is one of the six temples of the Yellow Sect in the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which means "Duimi Monastery" or "Jimi Monastery" in Tibetan language. It is located in the depression on the south slope of genpeiwuzi mountain, about 10 kilometers away from the western suburb of Lhasa city. It was founded in 1416 by Zhaxi bandan, the founder of yellow religion. The monastery's precious collection, architecture, murals, and a kitchen that can accommodate 10000 monks dining at the same time are all highlights.

Day 3 Lhasa

Today, you will sightseeing in the Lhasa downtown area, the first stop is the Potala Palace, known as the resort of Tibetan Buddhism, is the highest belief of all Tibetan Buddhist believers. Located on Mt. Maburi in Lhasa, it is a grand building with the highest elevation in the world, integrating palaces, castles and temples. It is also the largest and most complete ancient palace Castle complex in Tibet.

Next, head to the Jokhang Monestery. Jokhang Monestery is the earliest civil structure building in Tibet, and has created the Tibetan Pingchuan style temple city planning. The reason why Lhasa has the reputation of "holy land" is related to the Buddha statue of "Reza", the God of Tibetan Buddhism. The temple was originally called "Reza". Later, it became the name of the city and evolved into the current "Lhasa".

The last stop is the Barkhor Street. It is a famous transit road and commercial center in Lhasa. It has fully preserved the traditional appearance and living style of the ancient city. The original street of Barkor street is only a turning path around the Jokhang Monastery, which is called "holy road" by Tibetans. Here you can do the kora with pilgrims and locals. And then we’ll go to explore the old market and you may have chance to see the traditional jewelry trading between people from different part of Tibet.

Day 4 Lhasa-Nyingchi-Bayi town

Today, you will drive about 6 hours to get to the Nyingchi city. Upon arrivel, pay a visit to the Ganden Monastery. It is located on wangbori mountain, 3800 meters above sea level on the South Bank of Lhasa River. The Gadan monastery is the most special one among the six major temples of the Yellow Sect. It was built by zongkaba, the founder of Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1409. It is the ancestral temple of Gelu sect. The typical Tibetan religious buildings built along the mountain, precious cultural relics, collections, and long history are all the reasons for tourists and believers to visit.

After the sightseeing, drive back to your hotel in Bayi town.

Day 5 Bayi Town

After breakfast, drive you to the Lulang Forest, it is a forest in the misty sea of clouds and mountains, which has the reputation of "Snow Switzerland". The whole scenic spot is picturesque, surrounded by snow capped mountains, green forest in the ditch, and neat meadows like manual pruning. Many residential buildings are built in the sky forest surrounded by mountains and rivers. The surrounding streams are winding and thousands of wild flowers are competing to open up, which is a paradise on earth.

After your Lulang Forest sightseeing tour, drive back to your hotel in Bayi town.

Day 6 Bayi-Basum-tso Lake-Bayi

After the breakfast, drive about 25 km to the Kading Valley, which is a forested park famous for a thundering 200-meter-high waterfall. From granite cliffs, you may recognize many interesting figures, like a Buddha, a lotus lamp or different holy animals. 

After that, drive to the Basum-tso Lake, also called Cuogao Lake in Tibetan, meaning the green water. Cuogao lake is the sacred lake of Ningma sect and one of the largest fresh water barrier lakes in the Eastern Tibet. Covering 26 square kilometers, the dark blue lake surface looks like a mirror, and clearly reflects the tall snow mountains and green plants in the lake, just like a picture. Combining beautiful scenery and amazing legends, Cuogao Lake is such a holy and spectacular place to explore!

Drive back to your hotel in Bayi town.

Day 7 Nyingchi City Departure

Free on your own until your tour guide transfer you to the Nyingchi airport for your flight to next destination. Our service ends.
