Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa

Pick up service can be arranged at Lhasa train station or Lhasa airport, our guide will meet you at the exit with a welcome sign "Lhasa Private Tour". Transfer to your hotel in Lhasa, the rest day is free on your own to adapt to the local altitude.

Day 2 Lhasa

After breakfast, you lhasa tour start with the famous Drepung Monastery. Drepung Monastery is one of the six temples of the Yellow Sect in the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which means "Duimi Monastery" or "Jimi Monastery" in Tibetan language. It is located in the depression on the south slope of genpeiwuzi mountain, about 10 kilometers away from the western suburb of Lhasa city. It was founded in 1416 by Zhaxi bandan, the founder of yellow religion. The monastery's precious collection, architecture, murals, and a kitchen that can accommodate 10000 monks dining at the same time are all highlights.

After having lunch, you’ll continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. There are a large number of cultural relics in sera monestery, such as Buddha statues, Thangka, scriptures, magic tools, and offering utensils, which are extremely precious.

You will have a dinner at a suitable time. After dinner, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 3 Lhasa

Today, you will sightseeing in the Lhasa downtown area, the first stop is the Potala Palace, known as the resort of Tibetan Buddhism, is the highest belief of all Tibetan Buddhist believers. Located on Mt. Maburi in Lhasa, it is a grand building with the highest elevation in the world, integrating palaces, castles and temples. It is also the largest and most complete ancient palace Castle complex in Tibet.

Next, head to the Jokhang Monestery. Jokhang Monestery is the earliest civil structure building in Tibet, and has created the Tibetan Pingchuan style temple city planning. The reason why Lhasa has the reputation of "holy land" is related to the Buddha statue of "Reza", the God of Tibetan Buddhism. The temple was originally called "Reza". Later, it became the name of the city and evolved into the current "Lhasa".

The last stop is the Barkhor Street. It is a famous transit road and commercial center in Lhasa. It has fully preserved the traditional appearance and living style of the ancient city. The original street of Barkor street is only a turning path around the Jokhang Monastery, which is called "holy road" by Tibetans. Here you can do the kora with pilgrims and locals. And then we’ll go to explore the old market and you may have chance to see the traditional jewelry trading between people from different part of Tibet.

Day 4 Lhasa-Tsetang

Today, you will drive about 130km to visit the Samye Monastery, known as the first Tibetan monastery in Lhasa. Samye Monastery is famous for three Buddhist jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. One of the highlights of Samye Monastery is the rich murals such as the 92-meter-long “Records of Tibetan History” and “The biography of Master Padmasambhava”. At the same time, it has three kinds of religious culture with Han nationality, India and Tibetan characteristics. Up to the top of Samye Monastery, you will have a great opportunity to see the panorama of the “mandala”, which is the best place to photograph the unique shape of the Samye Monastery.

Drive you to your hotel in Tsetang Town.

Day 5 Tsetang Town

Today, you will have a deeper Tibet cultural day tour in Tsetang town-the birth place of the Tibet religion culture. The first stop is Yombulakhang Palace, the first palace in tibet. It used to be the place where Songzan Ganbu and Princess Wencheng lived. Later, it became a monastery of yellow religion. You can find the rudiments of Tibetan religious culture, historical sites and important documents here.

After lunch, drive you to the Trundruk Monastery. With a history of over 1,300 years, Trundruk is one of the oldest monasteries in Tibet. It’s kind of the same age as Lhasa city.

Drive back to your hotel in Tsetang Monastery.

Day 6 Tsetang-Qiongjie County-Lhasa

After breakfast and check out from your hotel, you will be taken back to the Lhasa. On the way back, you will have a opportunity to visit the Tibetan king's tomb. The tomb of the Tibetan king is an important part of Tibetan history and culture. The remains of Tibetan rulers of different dynasties were finally buried here, including the tombs of Songzan Ganbu, chide Songzan and Princess Wencheng.

Day 7 Lhasa Departure

Free on your own to explore Lhasa city until transfer to Lhasa train station or Lhasa airport for your next destination. Our service ends.
