Overview
Kunming enjoys the reputation of "Spring City", the capital of Yunnan Province, China's gateway city to Southeast Asia and South Asia, a famous historical and cultural city of the country, an important tourist and commercial city in my country, and one of the important central cities in the western region. Kunming is located in the middle of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the north, Yuxi City in the southwest, Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the southeast, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the west, and Qujing City in the east.

Geography
Kunming is located between 24°23' and 26°22'N, and 102°10'and 103°40'E, with a total area of 21,600 square km. Its widest stretch from the east to the west amounts to 140 km and its largest expansion from the north to the south amounts to 220 km. Its highest point is Mazong Ridge of the Jiaozi Mountain in Luquan with an elevation of 4,247 m, and its lowest point is the joint of the Xiaojiang River and the Jinsha River in Dongchuan District, with an elevation of 695m. Its downtown area is 1,891 m above sea level. Kunming is the political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan Province as well as the gateway of China to the Southeast Asian countries.

Population
With a population over 4.5 million and there are 26 nationalities with a total ethnic minority population accounting for 12.55% of the total population of the whole city. Of its ethnic groups, those with more than 4,000 members are the Yis, the Huis, the Bais, the Miaos, the Lisus, the Zhuangs, the Dais, the Hanis, and the Naxis. Throughout the ages, people of different nationalities have developed their own peculiar life styles, customs, institutions, traditional festivals, cultures and art forms all of which constitute a gorgeous picture of varied ethnicity.

Tourism
Kunming has more than 2000 years history and it is the center of Yunnan Province’s politics, economy, culture, science and technology as well as the transportation are the same as my famous historical and cultural city, an ideal tourist destination in when you travel to Yunnan. Kunming is rich in it's beautiful natural scenery, splendid historical sites, and gorgeous ethnic customs that made Kunming one of the top ten tourist hotspot cities in the country, and the first batch of excellent tourist cities in China. There are more than 200 cultural relics protected by governments at all levels in the city, including Shilin World Geopark, Dianchi Lake, Anning Hot Spring, Jiuxiang, Yangzonghai, Jiaozi Snow Mountain and other national and provincial famous scenic spots, as well as the World Horticultural Expo Park and Yunnan Nationalities More than 100 key scenic spots including the village.

Climate
It belongs to the Subtropical plateau monsoon climate, due to the influence of the warm and humid airflow from the southwest of the Indian Ocean, the sunshine is long, the frost period is short, the annual average temperature is 15?, the annual average sunshine is about 2,200 hours, and the frost-free period is more than 240 days. The climate is mild, no scorching heat in summer, no severe cold in winter, all seasons are like spring, and the climate is pleasant.
