Overview
Shangri la city is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, spanning Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet, and is located in the center of Diqing Shangri La. Shangri la city borders on Daocheng and Muli counties in Sichuan Province in the East, Lijiang County and Weixi County in the West and south, and Deqin County in the north.
Weather & Climate
Some parts of Shangri La have different climates due to different altitudes. It is a typical "three-dimensional agricultural climate", and its climate characteristics are as follows:
1. Monsoon climate
The dry and wet seasons are distinct. June to October are rainy season. From November to may, there are many sunny days, sufficient light and large evaporation, which belongs to the dry season.
2. Stereoscopic climate
From the Jinsha River Valley at 1503 meters to the top of Haba snow mountain at 5309 meters above sea level, the climate changes with the elevation. There are four seasons in one mountain area.
3. Plateau climate
Shangri-la plateau, with an average altitude of 3450 meters, has abundant solar radiation throughout the year, with a small annual temperature range. There is no summer in the whole year, with an average temperature of 5.5 ? and a large temperature difference between day and night.
4. Topography climate
The terrain of Shangri-La is low in the South and high in the north. Due to the complex terrain structure of Shangri-La, various climate types are interlaced. In the same climate vertical zone, there are forest climate, grassland climate, basin climate and other single small terrain climate, forming a complex and diverse climate characteristics.
Shangri-La in Four Seasons
There is no obvious climate difference in the four seasons of Shangri La, but more importantly, the climate changes due to the different terrain. The most obvious difference is that the climate changes with time in a day, and the temperature difference between day and night is large.
