Overview
Shangri la is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, spanning Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. At present, there is no railway station in Shangri-La. The main way to get to Shangri-La is by car and plane.

Diqing Shangri-la Airport
Diqing Shangri-La airport is located in Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, 3.5 km away from the center of Shangri-La. It is a Plateau Airport (3287.9 meters above sea level). The project was started on January 4, 1998 and officially opened to navigation on April 30, 1994.

Routes
At present, Diqing Shangri La airport has only opened routes to three cities, namely Kunming, Lhasa and Chengdu. All tourists who choose to fly to Shangri-La must start from these three cities.

How to get to Diqing Shangri-la Airport from downtown
Diqing Shangri La airport is 5.4km away from the downtown of Shangri La. Taxis are the main means of transportation, and the price is 30 yuan. You can take it 50 meters ahead of the airport terminal.

By Highway (BUS)
Highway is the main mode of transportation into Shangri-La. Due to the distance between Shangri-La and various scenic spots, the departure time of the shuttle bus often changes due to the weather and road conditions. Therefore, before going to the scenic spots, we must pay attention to the weather, road conditions and other information in advance.

From Kunming to Shangri-La
The whole journey is about 720km, passing through Chuxiong, Dali and other places. Tourists can take a bus directly to Shangri-La from Kunming West passenger station. There is a shuttle bus in the morning and evening, which takes about 12 hours.

From Lijiang to Shangri-La
The whole journey is about 187km, the bus will departure from 7:00 to 18:00 every day. It will takes 4-5 hours.

From Dali to Shangri-La
The whole journey is about 300km, lasting about 8 hours. It is high and fast bus in the daytime, and the night bus starts at 16:00 in the evening. Departure from Dali north passenger station (Yuhua Road, Xiaguan) and costs 85 yuan.

From Sichuan Daocheng County to Shangri-La
It is about 300km from Daocheng county to Shangri-La. You can take a bus at Daocheng bus passenger transport center. You will cross the snow mountains on the way, and you can watch the Shangri La Grand Canyon on the way. The journey is about 8 hours, and the reference ticket price is 108 yuan.

From Shangri-La to Tiger Leaping Gorge by bus
The whole journey is 96km and the ticket price is 35 yuan. The first bus departure from 8:30am everyday.
